Effective Dec 1st, 2019, Elk Grove is requiring all veterinarians to turn over Rabies certificates to Elk Grove Animal Services for any Elk Grove-residing pet we vaccinate against Rabies. Rabies is a mandatory vaccine for all cats and dogs over 4 months of age. These certificates will likely be used to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
Service animals and up to two pets per household owned by seniors over 65 years of age are eligible for free licenses. You can access and download a copy of your Rabies certificate, microchip information and spay or neuter certificate by emailing us or via your pet portal https://www.petsites.com/new/Account/Login?id=1030
Pet License applications can be obtained online at Elk Grove Animal Services. http://www.elkgrovecity.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_109585/File/animal-license-application.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1_MVeHtP_XPDjGi-C7ZZnz5CEqgE5PXfZycVkdRsGJBG2pRlejdzyNQzo
At this time, there isn’t an online option to apply for your pet’s license, but they are working on a resolution.
